I want to make a game for the iPhone/iPad and maybe MacOS. Nothing too fancy with the graphics, I'm doing stylized graphics like SUPERHOT or Low-Poly Stylized Game in 3D.
Is the 13' MacBook Pro good enough? I plan on using xcode and unreal engine 4 for my game development. I already have a desktop gaming workstation pc for most of my work, gaming, and game dev.
I don't have a laptop. Should I get the 15' MacBook pro instead of the 13' MacBook Pro? Is it powerful enough for MacOS games like SUPERHOT, Portal 2, and Bioshock Infinite? But more importantly, since I don't plan on playing games on a mac, is this good for game development for iOS and Android?
Will there be a huge difference in performance between the 13' and 15' in UE4 and XCode? The 13' have a Intel GPU while the 15' got a ATI card. EDIT: I'm still having a hard time deciding between the 13' MBP and 15' MBP due to mixed responses, some tells me to just get the cheaper 13' one and use my PC for most of the work while others tells me to get the 15' for the dedicated ATI Radeon gpu.
If you haven’t heard of Alto’s Adventure before, you play as Alto the snowboarder, in an endless side-scrolling adventure traversing the hilly snow-capped landscapes with jumps and mid-air tricks. On the iOS App Store, the game has received both Editor’s Choice and Best of 2015 awards from Apple. The game rose to popularity on iOS with its simple ‘one-button’ controls mixed into a game with surprising depth in visuals and exploration. Perform multiple tricks to make combos and better their high score. There are 180 goals (achievements) to check off too. The developers say that Apple’s announcement of an overhauled Mac App Store with macOS Mojave, launching later today, was the impetus to getting Alto’s Adventure ported to the Mac platform.
They had begun development more than a year ago, but got sidetracked with tvOS versions and the earlier this year. Alto’s Adventure syncs game progress over iCloud, so you can play seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.
